AMMAN — The number of passengers travelling through Queen Alia International Airport increased by 13 per cent during the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2013, according to a report released by Airport International Group (AIG) on Saturday.

The number of passengers rose from 3.166 million in the first half of 2013, to 3.6 million this year.

The number of airplanes landing and taking off from the airport also went up during the first six months of this year.

AIG CEO, Kjeld Binger attributed the increase to the growing number of flights to Gulf countries, Sharm El Sheikh, Iraq, Tripoli and London.
