AMMAN — Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs Rafiq Khirfan met on Wednesday with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide during an official visit to Al Hussein refugee camp to assess the conditions of Palestinian refugees and the challenges they face.

The visit included a field tour of the camp, during which the delegation was briefed on the services provided by UNRWA in cooperation with the Jordanian government, according to a Foreign Ministry statement..

UNRWA Deputy Commissioner-General Antonia De Meo, Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan Mona Juul, and UNRWA Director in Jordan Olaf Becker also took part in the tour.

Khirfan expressed deep appreciation for Norway’s continued support for UNRWA, highlighting both financial contributions and political advocacy for Palestinian refugee rights. He underscored the need for sustained international backing to help the agency continue delivering essential services under increasingly difficult regional conditions.
