AMMAN — Omar Kurdi, the chairman of the National Electric Power Company’s (NEPCO) board of directors, on Sunday paid an inspection visit to the northern electricity stations.

These stations cover four governorates with a load of 800 megawatts, constituting 30 per cent of the Kingdom’s electricity load.

Kurdi praised the role of the workers in the stations for ensuring electrical sustainability and the availability of electricity for the Kingdom.

He stressed the importance of NEPCO’s role in serving the national economy and in providing and distributing electrical energy, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

NEPCO General Manager Amjad Rawashdeh stressed the vital role of the northern stations to provide electricity to the four northern governorates.

Rawashdeh praised the performance of the workers and their role in ensuring the sustainability of the electric current. He also urged them to stand by the company in circumstances that afflict the country and the world as a result of international challenges.

Rawashdeh stressed the importance of teamwork, maintaining excellence at the company's sites and raising the level of readiness, especially during the winter season.

Listening to a briefing about the progress of work and the challenges facing the workers and stations, Kurdi and Rawashdeh expressed their readiness to cooperate to find ways to confront these challenges and consider the demands of workers.

This visit comes as part of a series of inspection visits carried out in order to ensure the readiness of the electrical system and to communicate with workers in the field throughout the Kingdom.
