Nine people injured as expansion roof at Mecca Mall collapses

AMMAN – The roof of an expansion part at Mecca Mall in western Amman collapsed Thursday morning, causing injuries to nine people, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) said in a statement.
The injured people, the CDD said, were in fair conditions and were taken to a nearby hospital.
The CDD said that its cadres are still dealing with the accident at the construction site.
No details on the cause of the collapse were included in the statement, which said that more details will be available later.
Mecca Mall is one of the largest shopping centres in the capital.
