AMMAN — Nine new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the Kingdom on Tuesday, increasing the caseload to 755, the government announced.

The new cases included three Jordanians returning from abroad — one from Russia, one from the US and one from Qatar — all of whom were quarantined in designated hotels. Two employees working in a quarantine hotel were also among the cases, a Prime Ministry statement said.

The four other cases were truck drivers who tested positive at the Omari border crossing, one of whom is Jordanian, the statement added.

Also on Tuesday, 14 people left hospitals while 5,819 laboratory tests were conducted, bringing the cumulative number of tests since the beginning of the crisis to 198,879.
