AMMAN — Secretary-General of the National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA), Muhammad Miqdadi and Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) Hussein Shibli on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation and partnership frameworks in the areas of family counselling and care for the elderly. Miqdadi said that the council seeks to improve the quality of life for Jordanian families through studies, programmes and projects implemented in cooperation with relevant national institutions and international organisations, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Speaking about elderly care, Miqdadi said that the council has prepared a national strategy that will be updated periodically based on evaluation report results, also noting that the council will work to open day clubs for the elderly in various governorates. For his part, Shibli said: “Through our work in the JHCO, we seek to build partnerships with institutions with common goals to achieve a broader umbrella for social protection and more focus on groups that require care and attention, and to direct efforts towards the family in general and the elderly in particular with a guiding framework to achieve social solidarity."
