AMMAN — The National Company for Employment and Training (NCET) on Tuesday announced a new plan to expand the period of its vocational training programmes for youths and women across the Kingdom.
The period of the programmes will be extended to three months instead of one month, NCET Director General Brig. Gen. Mohammad Jazi said in a statement e-mailed to The Jordan Times.
Jazi said that after inaugurating two institutes in Muwaqqar, with a capacity of 200 students, upon Royal directives, the company is working to open two other institutes in the Southern Badia with a capacity of 150 trainees.
Since its inception, NCET has trained 19,179 students across the Kingdom, 16,135 of whom completed the programme’s requirements, Jazi said, adding that 12,024 of the total graduates joined the labour market, with an employment rate of 74.5 per cent.
NCET was established upon Royal directives in 2007 as a non-profit private shareholding company owned by Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.
