Aiming to provide a worldwide series of English language books to students starting from the 1st grade and to the 12th grade, the NCCD signed the agreement with the Petra Jordan for Educational Publishing.

In a statement made available to The Jordan Times, head of the NCCD Muhyiddine Touq said that “such a step is necessary in the educational reform and curriculum development processes”, noting the programme would equip students with the necessary resources to befit their level of education.

The reference uses the latest techniques for teaching foreign languages, according to Touq who added that the NCCD established an academic team to follow up on the new changes and ensure they are in accordance with the general curriculum framework.

Commenting on the agreement, Fidaa Saleh, a Jordanian English language educator, told The Jordan Times that “English language is now the language that gives people access to more opportunities therefore it is important to keep up with the latest developments and trends in education”.

Similarly, Manal Ghazawi who is an instructor at a private school, said that “such efforts would help develop students’ skills and capacities”, noting that the focus must be on the four main skills which are listening, speaking, reading and writing.
