AMMAN — Piracy on computer programmes dropped from 87 per cent in 1994 to 57 per cent in 2014, National Library Department (NLD) Director General Mohammad Abbadi said Monday.
In a lecture delivered at Taj Cultural Forum, Abbadi said that NLD in 2014 has so far issued 5,436 deposit numbers for books, periodicals and computer programmes, among others.
During the same period, NLD has issued 2,834 ISBNs, Abbadi added, noting that the actual number of deposits stands at 1,332 items.
He noted that the national archive includes two million original documents and 300,000 photocopied documents.
