AMMAN — The national e-billing system can issue 60 million invoices per day, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh said on Thursday.
During a symposium organised by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), Hanandeh said that the system takes aspects of security and information protections applied in global systems into consideration, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister added that the system is “simple and easy to use”, and went through all technical tests to be user friendly. Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) Hussam Abu Ali said that small-scale merchants and craftspeople are not included in the system, and that sectors will be granted enough time to address any potential challenges facing companies and taxpayers.
ACC President Khalil Hajj Tawfiq said that there are some reservations on the system that need to be discussed.
