AMMAN — The National Charter Party on Thursday paid tribute to Palestinians celebrating Land Day, annually marked on March 30, as a symbol of their struggle in defence of their land and holy sites against the Israeli occupation.
The celebration comes as a reminder of Palestinians’ insistence on fulfilling their legitimate rights to freedom and establishment of an independent Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital, the party said in a statement.
The party affirmed its standing with Palestinians against the aggressive Israeli practices, including killing, arresting, vandalising and seizing land and property, continuing to build settlements, and adopting a racist approach indifferent to international legitimacy, all international norms and agreements, and UN Security Council resolutions related to the Palestinian issue.
The international community bears its legal and moral responsibilities, and is obligated to defend international principles and covenants that condemn the forced occupation of land and reject apartheid in all its forms, through its institutions, foremost of which is the Security Council and the UN General Assembly, which aim to maintain regional and global security and stability.
Under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, Jordanians will remain strong supporters of Palestine and defenders of Palestinians’ legitimate rights, the party said.
