AMMAN — Al Mithaq Al Watani (National Charter) Party announced on Wednesday that its central council has approved their participation in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

Yaqoub Nasser Al Din, the Central Council’s head, emphasised that the party’s decision to partake in the elections aligns with His Majesty King Abdullah’s vision of achieving political, economic and administrative reforms, according to a party statement.

He also highlighted that their participation in the parliamentary elections is seen as a national duty, aiming to bolster parliamentary life through partisan participation and to benefit from the Royal vision in the formation of parliamentary partisan blocs, which would lead to parliamentary governments.

He added that the party fully acknowledges the “significance of this phase” and the need to work towards its development, stressing that the party, backed by the efforts of its members and supporters across all Kingdom constituencies, will work determinedly to support the party’s candidates on both national and local party lists.

Party Secretary General, Mohammad Momani, told the Jordan Times that Al Mithaq Al Watani is the first party to declare its participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
