AMMAN — The National Association for the Care of the Residents of Reform Centres resolved around 200 debt cases, including gharimat (indebted women) in the first half of this year.
Mohammed Ghazi Abu Soufa, head of the association, on Wednesday, said that the organisation has contributed to settling these cases in various courts in the Kingdom, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
All cases have been dropped, arrest warrants have been lifted and travel bans have been removed for certain individuals, he affirmed.
Stressing the association's commitment to providing ongoing logistical support to the rehabilitation and reform centres, Abu Soufa said that the support includes providing female inmates with basic necessities such as clothing and toiletries, as well as medical supplies such as eyeglasses, canes, and wheelchairs.
The association has also facilitated the release of several non-Jordanian inmates by arranging their repatriation following court rulings and booking their travel tickets.
