NARC director, EU envoy discuss sustainable agriculture development

AMMAN — Director General of the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Nizar Haddad held a coordination meeting with EU Ambassador to Jordan Maria Hadjitheodosiou, which covered cooperation approaches with partners to enhance capacity development leading to a sustainable agricultural sector through the projects funded by the EU and implemented at NARC, according to a statement from the centre.

During the meeting, Haddad briefed the visiting delegation about these projects, namely, Cross-border Living Laboratories for Agro-forestry, promoting sustainable irrigation management and non-conventional use in the Mediterranean and non-conventional water reuse in agriculture in Mediterranean countries.

Hadjitheodosiou expressed appreciation for NARC’s management of agricultural projects through efforts in the field of scientific research, along with the centre’s scientific position and its ability to attract and implement pioneering projects, affirming support for the projects.
