AMMAN — The National Aid Fund (NAF) on Thursday announced that it will launch the biggest social protection programme before the end of this month, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The NAF also denied the suspension of the ongoing monthly aid programme.
Acting director general of the NAF Omar Mashagbeh said that the fund is ready to launch complementary support programme, “Takafol”, with the fund operating in full financial and human capacity.
The fund will also continue to allocate all kinds of financial aid to impoverished families in various regions of the Kingdom, Petra added.
Mashagbeh said that there are more than 100,000 household beneficiaries of the NAF.
He explained that the delay in the allocation process this month is due to the coordination between the new and existing programmes.
“The delay did not exceed one week, which was needed to conclude the technical and logistical preparations and tests for the new programme,” he said.
Monthly allocations were resumed as of Thursday morning, he said, calling for accuracy and professionalism when publishing news about the NAF.
