AMMAN — Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Wednesday inaugurated a project to improve water supply in Ajloun's  Kufranjeh region, 70km northwest of Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Minister of Water and Irrigation Hazem El Nasser said that the project, funded by UNICEF, Mercy Corps and the Water Authority, in addition to the US and the UK governments, will contribute to addressing the water shortage resulting from the lack of underground water resources and the hosting of Syrian refugees. It consists of a reservoir, a water treatment plant and a pumping station, Petra reported.

State Minister for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani, Enviroment Minister Yaseen Khayyat, Agricultural Minister Khaled Hneifat and the UK Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden also attended the inauguration ceremony.
