AMMAN — The Lower House’s agriculture and water committee on Tuesday discussed work permit fees for guest workers in the agricultural sector.
MP Khaled Hiari, head of the committee, said that panel members, in the presence of Labour Minister Ali Ghezawi, proposed to set the fees for agricultural permits at JD300, while fees for other sectors will be JD500.
Ghezawi said the new by-law on guest workers aims at regulating sectors rather than collecting money, noting that the by-law is aimed at addressing problems in the labour market, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
