MPs commend kingdom’s efforts in reinforcing rule of law

AMMAN — MP Abdul Rahim Maaiah on Wednesday stated that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, has taken significant steps to bolster the national integrity system and reinforce the rule of law. During a meeting of the Lower House with Robert Bladon, an expert at the Adam Smith Global Foundation, Maaiah emphasised Jordan's commitment to aligning with regional and international developments in public finance oversight and contributing to the reform of the state's general financial management systems, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Maaiah also commended the Audit Bureau and the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission's dedication to promoting accountability, transparency, the preservation of public funds and the rule of law. He also acknowledged the supervisory role played by the parliamentary committees, particularly the Parliamentary Finance Committee, in safeguarding public funds by reviewing Audit Bureau reports and submitting recommendations to the Lower House. Audit Bureau President Radhi Al Hamadeen stressed the significance of collaboration with the Lower House, affirming the Bureau’s commitment to enhance the mechanism for preparing its annual report.
