AMMAN — Police are investigating a shooting incident involving a man and his mother in Central Badia, whose bodies were discovered on Thursday.
The bodies of the man and his mother were found at their home in Um Al Qasir, shot dead, Public Security Department (PSD) Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi said.
“The two victims were found dead and it seems they were shot,” Sartawi told The Jordan Times.
The police official refused to indicate if the incident was a homicide or if it was “a murder-suicide incident”.
“It is too early to conclude what happened and we are currently waiting on criminal lab results and an examination of ballistics,” Sartawi added.
The victim’s bodies were transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, according to a statement by the PSD.
The Criminal Court prosecutor was called to the scene and started questioning the victim’s family relatives and neighbours, the PSD statement added.
