The Muslim Brotherhood group in Jordan has been dissolved for years, and this was reaffirmed in a court ruling in 2020. All its activities have also been banned since April 2025.
In X platform, the minister wrote, “The Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan has been legally dissolved years ago, a status confirmed by a court ruling in 2020, and all its activities were banned in April 2025.”
The ministet said that Jordan deals with all issues in accordance with its higher national interests and in line with the Constitution and the law.
The US has designated Muslim Brotherhood organisations in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan as “terrorist” groups, the administration of President Donald Trump announced.
The US Department of the Treasury labelled the groups in Jordan and Egypt as “specially designated global terrorists”, and the Department of State blacklisted the Lebanese organisation as a “foreign terrorist organisation” (FTO).
