Mobile voice service subscriptions totalled 7,625,635 million in Q4 or 2022 — TRC

AMMAN — The prevalence of mobile telecommunications services in ratio to the population in the Kingdom stood at 67.47 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2022, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) said on Sunday.

According to a TRC report, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the prevalence of fixed voice telecommunications services for households was 20.5 per cent, and the prevalence of fixed broadband Internet services for households was 34 per cent in the October-December period of 2022.

The volume of fixed telephone traffic was 23.2 million minutes, while the volume of mobile telephone traffic was 8.1 billion minutes. The volume of use of fixed-band data stood at 958 million gigabytes (GB), and the volume of use of mobile broadband data stood at 528 million GB.

Mobile voice service subscriptions totalled 7,625,635 million for the fourth quarter, including 5,502,722 subscriptions for pre-paid services, accounting for 72 per cent of total subscriptions, and 2,122,913 subscriptions for post-paid services.

Telephone traffic lasting 23,213,183 minutes was registered, including by 91 per cent for local calls and 9 per cent to international destinations.

As for the end of the fourth quarter, the total number of fixed voice telecommunications subscriptions was 481,101,000, of which 68 per cent were households and 32 per cent in the commercial sector.

The report noted that technology-based fixed Internet broadband subscriptions stood at 447,118 via the fibre technology as of the end of the fourth quarter, while broadband Internet subscriptions using the FBWA model totalled 223,898.

 The total Internet service subscriptions using the ADSL model totalled 117,244.
