AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has foiled an attempt to replace 14 tonnes of expired peanuts and two tonnes of spices with sawdust and animal fodder to avoid being caught by inspectors, JFDA Director General Hayel Obeidat said Wednesday.

Obeidat added that the items were seized from the stores of two major merchants, who were referred to the prosecutor general.
