AMMAN — On Sunday, Ayla Golf Club, Jordan’s only grass golf course, located on Aqaba’s Red Sea coast, will host the 2019 autumn series of MENA Tour’s professional golf tournament.

Ayla Golf Club will host 79 golf professionals from 24 countries as they compete for a single prize fund of $100,000, according to a statement issued by the club.

The golf club, which opened its doors in September 2016, will host the MENA Tour professional golf tournament for the fifth time in three years, the statement said, adding that it will also be the second tournament of three in the MENA Tour’s 2019 schedule.

Aqaba is “the perfect location for ‘Journey to Jordan’ to return, with over 800,000 square metres of rolling green fairways and Aqaba’s stunning mountains as a backdrop”, the statement said.
