Maronite church followers encouraged to baptise children at Jordan River

AMMAN — Tourism Minister Lina Annab on Sunday said that Patriarch Moran Mor Bechara Boutros Al Rahi a has decided to allow Maronite church followers in Lebanon and around the world to baptise their children at the Baptism Site in Jordan.

The decision could increase visitors to the site and stimulate tourism in Jordan, Annab said, noting that this is part of her ministry’s efforts to increase tourist numbers in Jordan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Annab also highlighted her recent visit to Lebanon to boost relations and promote tourism to Jordan.
