Man killed, others escaped in border infiltration attempt

AMMAN — The East Military Zone on Monday at dawn foiled an attempt by a number of people to infiltrate the Kingdom. In a statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said that applying the rules of engagement led to the killing of one and the escape of the rest.

The JAF stressed that the infiltrators were linked to a group that attacked a Border Guard patrol on Sunday and killed an army captain and injured three soldiers. The army said it will respond with all strength and resolve against any infiltration attempt to protect the Kingdom's borders and prevent any violation of national security.
