Man arrested over blasphemous social media posts

AMMAN — The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday arrested a man suspected of writing and posting blasphemous content on social media.

The Public Security Directorate said that its Cyber Crimes Unit had managed to track down and arrest the suspect who had been publishing offensive posts about religion and Islamic symbols, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The suspect is now under custody pending further investigation, Petra added.
