AMMAN — Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Ibrahim Jazi said that the majority of violations detected in the 2021 Audit Bureau report, including those circulated on social media platforms, were already rectified.
Jazi, who is also head of the team tasked with revising inquiries and monitoring letters of the Audit Bureau, said that the team works instantly on dealing with all inquiries to the bureau and holds periodic weekly and monthly meetings for this purpose, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He said that the team has held some 50 meetings and took all necessary procedures to rectify the inquiries as per the law, noting that Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh is following up on all procedures necessary to rectify violations in the report within a fixed timetable.
Jazi also noted that the team members have discussed all outcomes of the discussions and the replies of institutions subject to monitoring and made necessary decisions.
The minister said that top decisions of the team included referring 19 cases related to accounts of public institutions and municipalities to the Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission for further investigation as per the law.
He also said that the team has referred seven suspected cases of abuse of public money to the judiciary, adding that 56 decisions were issued to retrieve more than JD6 million that were spent unlawfully and 15 decisions to collect public money with a value exceeding JD108 million.
