AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan, chairman of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies’ board of trustees, on Sunday appointed Majeda Omar as the director of the institute, succeeding Michel Hamarneh.
A holder of PhD in philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, Omar is specialised in contemporary Western philosophy and has published several research papers on history, epistemology and religious philosophy.
She previously chaired the philosophy department at the University of Jordan and held other academic posts before serving as the main researcher at Prince Hassan’s office.
The prince also sent a letter to Hamarneh thanking him for his efforts in managing the institute.
