AMMAN — Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission Musa Maaytah met on Tuesday with the heads of election committees and operations room chiefs in the central and northern regions.

The meeting aimed to check the committees' readiness and facilitate the procedures related to the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for September 10.

Maaytah emphasised that the commission will enforce the law equally on everyone and will not tolerate any attempt to disrupt the electoral process, to achieve justice and equality.

He also stressed the importance of combating electoral corruption in all its forms and referring the perpetrators to the judiciary.

This came on the sidelines of a training workshop on managing operations rooms for the 2024 Parliamentary Elections, organised by the commission to ensure the smooth flow of information and to address any observations and inquiries received by the operations rooms from the time of voting until the process is completed.

The training programme targeted those working with the commission in 18 main operations rooms and 55 subsidiary operations rooms in electoral districts, to enhance the capabilities of the staff, ensure the timely delivery of logistical materials before election day, and maintain smooth operations on the day of voting.
