Maaytah, EU ambassador discuss women empowerment

AMMAN — Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Mousa Maaytah on Tuesday discussed with EU Ambassador Maria Hadjitheodosiou issues related to political and parliamentary development and women empowerment.

Maaytah said that the government is open to all proposals to develop the political process in Jordan, noting that the government will launch a multi-stakeholder dialogue to revisit legislation governing political life upon directives from His Majesty King Abdullah, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Hadjitheodosiou stressed that the EU mission is ready to provide the necessary support to the Kingdom's democratic and political development drive and to contribute to empowering women and youth, increasing their political participation and enhancing their access to elected councils and decision-making positions.
