AMMAN — The heads of eight Lower House blocs sent a memorandum to the Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on mechanisms to strengthen the institutionalisation of the blocs’ conduct.
The heads of the Modernity and Development, Mubadara (initiative), Justice, Future, Watan (homeland), Renaissance, People and Reform coalitions said that their memorandum comes in response to His Majesty King Abdullah’s reform directives on blocs, and their role in the transitional process to a parliamentary government.
The blocs’ heads said that parliamentary pluralism depends on the reform of election and parties laws to ensure that elections take place according a system based on proportional partisan lists, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
