Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee commends Dutch support

AMMAN — Head of the Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee MP Khaldoun Hina on Sunday praised the Dutch positions supporting the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and the Netherlands' role  in providing assistance to Jordan to help sustain its humanitarian role in the region.

During a meeting with Dutch Ambassador to Jordan Harry Verweij, Hina highlighted the "deep-rooted" ties between the kingdoms and went over the latest regional and international developments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The lawmaker also reviewed the Kingdom's difficult economic conditions and the challenges related to  receiving refugees, mainly Syrian refugees, calling on the international community to bear its responsibility in this regard and offer the biggest support possible for countries hosting Syrian refugees.

Verweij praised the Kingdom's positions and humanitarian role in hosting refugees, noting that his country is going on with supporting Jordan in various fields, mainly water, agriculture, energy and tourism.
