AMMAN — The Kingdom's local revenues stood at JD3.308 billion by the end of April, compared with JD3.307 billion during the same period in 2025, maintaining levels recorded last year despite the security challenges facing the region.
Tax revenues amounted to around JD2.456 billion during the same period, including JD930 million in income tax collections and some JD1.399 billion from the general sales tax, according to Ministry of Finance data cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Customs revenues and property sales tax collections reached JD91.5 million and JD35 million, respectively, while non-tax revenues amounted to JD852 million.
Grants received by the Kingdom during the first four months of 2026 totalled JD96 million, compared with JD21.6 million during the January-April period of 2025.
Total public revenues, including grants, reached around JD3.404 billion, compared with JD3.329 billion during the same period last year.
The revenue performance reflects the resilience of the tax base and the efficiency of revenue collection despite the challenges facing the region.
Regarding public spending, total government expenditure by the end of April amounted to JD4.09 billion, including JD3.7545 billion in current expenditure and JD336 million in capital expenditure.
Capital expenditure increased by 2 per cent during the first four months of the year compared with the same period in 2025.
The increase reflects the government's continued commitment to spending on capital projects due to their positive impact on economic activity and job creation.
