AMMAN — The director general of the Central Administration of Statistics in Lebanon, Maral Tutelian, on Sunday called for emulating the Jordanian experience in using new technologies in population censuses, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During her visit to the Department of Statistics (DoS), Tutelian said Lebanon seeks to benefit from Jordan’s experience in census taking, which will be used in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. DoS Director General Qasim Zu’bi said the population census for 2015 now functions as “an important and a main” resource for decision makers. Zu’bi stressed that various public agencies are required to collaborate to ensure a smooth census.
