Jordanians in Istanbul urged to exercise caution

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Sunday urged Jordanian residents and tourists in Istanbul to practice the highest level of caution and commit to the instructions issued by Turkish authorities, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
An explosion that ripped through the heart of Istanbul on Sunday left at least four people dead and 38 others wounded, the city governor said, according to the AFP.
The ministry said that Jordanians in Istanbul can contact the embassy in Ankara on 00905384419586, or the ministry’s operations room on 00962795497777, or through the email [email protected].
The explosion — the cause of which was unknown — occurred at 13:20 GMT in the famous Istiklal shopping street which is popular with locals and tourists. Istanbul governor Ali Yerlikaya tweeted that four people died according to initial information, the AFP reported.
