AMMAN — The Law Interpretation Bureau on Sunday ruled that the recent teachers’ strike hampered students’ interests and right to education.
In its decision, which was published in the Official Gazette on Sunday, the bureau highlighted that strikes are an “illegitimate” tactic for teachers and violates several by-laws as well as the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
The bureau urged teachers to pursue legitimate methods of voicing their concerns and demands.
