Labour Ministry deports 250 migrant workers for violations

AMMAN — The Ministry of Labour has deported 250 migrant workers, most of them with invalid or expired agricultural work permits, who have entered the labour market illegally or were working in jobs exclusively reserved for Jordanians, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.

The ministry’s inspection director, Abdullah Jbour, said that the inspections target all employers and workers from all nationalities and sectors to assure their abidance to the rules of law.

Jbour said that the ministry will not tolerate any violations of the Labour Law, and will take legal action against violators, leading to the deportation of any violating migrant worker and the possible closure of the employers’ establishment.
