‘Labour, agriculture ministries agree on unified fees for foreign labour’

AMMAN — The chair of the Lower House Agriculture and Water Committee, Deputy Khaled Hiyari, on Wednesday said the labour and agriculture ministries agreed to unify the fees related to foreign labour, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a meeting with the House committee, Labour Minister Ali Ghezawi said around 1 million guest workers are in Jordan, only 170,000 of whom have work permits. He added that the government will take strict measures against foreign workers who illegally move into other sectors.
