KSrelief, JHCO launch project to support 1,000 Jordanian, Syrian orphans

AMMAN — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), on Tuesday launched a project to support 1,000 orphans from underprivileged Jordanian and Syrian refugee families across the Kingdom.

The project aims to improve the living conditions of these orphans by providing monthly financial support to cover their basic needs for a whole year.

It will also seek to improve orphans’ educational prospects by funding school supplies and materials, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The programme will also include Eid clothing and various recreational activities during the holidays, with a focus on integrating orphans into the local communities and supporting their psychological well-being.

JHCO Secretary General Hussein Shibli said that supporting orphans is an important aspect of the humanitarian work that the organisation carries out with the support of KSrelief.

He added that the project aims to support around 1,000 orphans from both underprivileged Jordanian families and Syrian refugee families, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development and local charities.

Director of the KSrelief’s office in Jordan Naif Shammari stressed the centre’s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance through the Orphan Sponsorship Project to improve the living, economic and social conditions of the targeted families.
