AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Kreishan on Tuesday said that new legalisation includes clear provisions to empower women and young people, easing fears of political and partisan participation and offering them opportunities to get involved with the government.
During his meeting with students from Al Yarmouk University, Kreishan said that political modernisation is a continuous process since the establishment of the state.
The meeting went over means of enhancing the students' participation in political and partisan life, and the minister responded to the students' questions and observations related to partisan and election laws, as well as recommendations relevant to youth and women.
The event came as part of a national campaign launched by the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs in cooperation with the Civil Coalition for Monitoring Elections and the Performance of Elected Councils (Rased) and Yarmouk University.
