Korean volunteers perform dances, music at Amman park

AMMAN — Korean volunteers performed traditional music and dances for over 500 children and their parents at the Queen Rania Park in Amman on Saturday, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) said.

Volunteers taught the audience to sing a Korean nursery rhyme, “Three bears”, and then performed Korean music, dances and a drum show, KOICA said in a statement released on Monday.

Korean Ambassador to Jordan Lee Bom-yon and KOICA’s country director delivered speeches on the relationship and cooperation between Korea and Jordan.

Animated movies, including “Frozen” and “WonderBalls”, were screened at the park, as well as an introductory video of Korea and Jordan.

KOICA volunteers also handed out gifts to children. KOICA has organised several “Cinema Paradiso” events in Jordan since 2015, the agency said.
