AMMAN — Minister of Public Works and Housing, Yahya Kisbi on Tuesday met with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Jordan Office Director Miyahara Chie and accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed ways to bolster cooperation in the fields of housing, construction and contracting, and road maintenance, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The meeting focused on transferring the latest technologies used in Japan to Jordan and on providing the necessary support from the Japanese government to construct some roads and bridges leading to the King Hussein Bridge crossing due to their “humanitarian importance”.

Kisbi said that previous Japanese funding for the King Hussein Bridge project and the road leading to it is “a good and clear Japanese gesture to consolidate regional peace”.

The minister lauded the agency’s efforts and its continuous support for the housing, construction and contracting sector in Jordan, in addition to the courses that the agency is constantly holding to raise the efficiency of employees working in the public sector.

Kisbi stressed that the agency’s constant cooperation serves the interest of both countries.

Chie praised the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and its cooperation, expressing JICA’s aspiration to advance this partnership.
