King visits Oman, pays condolences to Sultan Haitham over passing of Sultan Qaboos

His Majesty says Arab and Islamic nations have lost a wise leader

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, in Muscat on Sunday, extended condolences to Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq Bin Taimour Al Said of Oman, over the passing of Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.

King Abdullah expressed deepest condolences to Sultan Haitham, his family and the people of Oman over the passing of Sultan Qaboos, according to a Royal Court statement.

During a visit to Al Alam Palace in Muscat to extend condolences, His Majesty said the Arab and Islamic nations have lost a wise leader who was dedicated to serving Oman and its people, defending Arab and Islamic causes, and supporting Jordan in all circumstances.

The King highlighted the deep, historical ties between the two countries, stressing that Jordan’s stand with Oman and its people.

Also extending condolences were Their Royal Highneses Prince Ali; Prince Hamzah; Prince Hashim, His Majesty’s chief royal councillor; Prince Ghazi Bin Mohammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy; Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Adviser to His Majesty for Communication and Coordination Bisher Al Khasawneh, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Oman Zuheir Nsour.

His Majesty returned to Jordan on Sunday, according to the statement.
