AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, at a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday, reiterated that the Palestinian cause is a Jordanian priority, calling for maintaining Jordanian-Palestinian coordination on various levels, to support the Palestinians in gaining their legitimate rights.

At a meeting attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, King Abdullah highlighted the need to maintain and step up coordination with Arab states and international partners to push towards creating a political horizon for the Palestinian cause, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Majesty stressed the need to include the Palestinians in regional economic projects, in order to empower them and support their resilience.

For his part, President Abbas commended Jordan’s role in advocating for the Palestinian cause at the international stage, and supporting the Palestinian people’s pursuit of their just and legitimate rights.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Jordan’s Ambassador in Washington, DC, Dina Kawar attended the meeting.
