AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah has urged the national football team to “fight spirit of Al Nashama” and raise Jordan's name high, ahead of the squad match with Austria on Wednesday.
In a post on X platform, the King wrote, “Our national team's heroes, all the best to you on your World Cup journey. Fight on the field with the spirit of Al Nashama that we've always known from you, and raise Jordan's name high, for our hearts are with you and our pride in you is steadfast always.”
Jordan will open their World Cup campaign on Wednesday against Austria in Santa Clara, before facing Algeria on June 22 at the same venue.
The Nashama final group-stage fixture will be against Argentina on June 27 in Kansas City.
