King, UK monarch discuss developments in Gaza

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, in a phone call on Wednesday with King Charles III of the United Kingdom, discussed the developments in Gaza and its surroundings.

The call also covered the deteriorating situation between the Palestinians and the Israelis, and the importance of ending the escalation, protecting civilians, and respecting international humanitarian law, according to a Royal Court statement.

Bilateral ties were also discussed during the phone call.

Also on Wednesday, His Majesty received a phone call from Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, which covered the dangerous developments in Gaza and its surroundings.

During the call, the importance of stepping up international efforts to end the escalation, protect civilians, and respect international humanitarian law was stressed.

His Majesty reiterated that the region will not enjoy security nor peace in the absence of a just solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
