AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday visited Fuheis, where he met with residents and representatives of the city in the house of dignitary Qaisar Daoud.
His Majesty affirmed his support to all people, stressing that everyone is on equal footing.
Racist concepts are alien to the Jordanian society and they have no place in the Kingdom, His Majesty said.
Schools bear the responsibility of bringing up a generation who believes in the values of citizenship and coexistence, the King added, noting that officials must undertake strict measures against anyone who opposes these values and promotes bigotry.
The King voiced his pride in the people of Fuheis and the Jordanian model of tolerance, love and coexistence.
He also focused on Jordan’s efforts, stemming from the Hashemite Custodianship, to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Attendees discussed a number of local and regional issues, presenting their opinions and proposals, to whom the King listened.
