King, Spain PM discuss deteriorating situation in Gaza

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah and President of the Government of Spain Pedro Sánchez, in a phone call on Wednesday, discussed the deteriorating situation in Gaza.

King Abdullah stressed the need to step up international efforts to end the war on Gaza, which has entered a dangerous stage that threatens to plunge the region and the world into a catastrophe, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Majesty warned against the continued targeting of innocent, defenceless civilians, reiterating that the Baptist Hospital bombing in Gaza is a heinous war crime.

The King also called for enabling international agencies to perform their humanitarian duties in Gaza and allowing the entry of medical and relief aid into the strip.
