King sends cable to President Abbas on anniversary of declaration of Palestinian state’s independence

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah has sent a cable to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the declaration of the independence of the State of Palestine.
In the cable, King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to continue working with the Palestinian people, Arab countries, and the international community towards the establishment of the independent and sovereign Palestinian state, on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution, and in accordance with international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty expressed keenness to bolster the deep-rooted Jordanian-Palestinian ties, in service of the shared interests of the two peoples.
