AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah received Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide at Al Husseiniya Palace on Monday.
The meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, touched on the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Norway, as well as ways to enhance cooperation across various fields, according to a Royal Court statement.
Current developments in the region were also discussed, with His Majesty stressing the need to reach just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution, and calling for stepping up efforts to immediately stop the war on Gaza and resume the flow of humanitarian aid.
The meeting covered the unilateral measures against Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem, as well as developments in Syria.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan Mona Juul attended the meeting.
